This one day workshop renews the STMS (non-practising warrant).

On successful completion of the STMS NP Refresher workshop, the non-practising warrant will be awarded based on the previous level of warrant:

• Level 1 STMS will be awarded STMS Cat A and B non-practising warrants
• Level 2/3 STMS will be awarded Cat A, B and C non-practising warrants

Topics Includes:

• Introduction of categories of road environment (A, B, C)
• Overview of the career path
• Risk Assessment
• Changes to STMS responsibilities
• Overview of the TMO role and changes to the TC role (and phase out of this role)
• Changes to inspection activities
• Preparation for a Practical Assessment (to renew the Practising Cat A, B or C warrant)

Workshop includes:

• STMS refresher handbook
• Morning tea, Lunch and Afternoon tea
• A verification card which can be used as proof of the warrant (until the Waka Kohahi ID card arrives)
• Waka Kotahi registration

Prerequisites:

This workshop is required for those who have held a Level 1 STMS, L2/3 STMS NP or L2/3 STMS qualification which is soon to expire (or expired for less than one year). It is the theory non-practising part of the qualification.  For those who also need to renew a practising warrant a Practical Assessment will also be required.
