The workshop is a full day; providing the theory knowledge and on the road assessments for people who carry out inspection activities:

• In category A and B road environments
• On the shoulder of category C road

It is suitable for any person who completes on-site inspection activities but does not hold another type of practising warrant.  The warrant may be added as an additional one-off module for a STMS NP qualified person to enable them to carry out inspection activities.

There is not a Unit Standard associated with this Waka Kotahi warrant.

• Reading the TMP and completing on-site records

• Acting as spotter
• Briefings
• Emergency Procedures
• Working around an inspection vehicle
• Safety (no go) zones

Workshop includes:

• Inspector Handbook
• Assessment material
• Morning tea, Lunch and Afternoon tea
• A verification card which can be used as proof of the warrant (until the Waka Kotahi card arrives)
• Waka Kotahi registration

Please bring:

• PPE Gear including high-vis vest, and safety boots along with an Inspection sign, beacon and vehicle to conduct the Inspections.

The warrant is renewed every three years with a briefing and re-assessment of the practical task.
