Unit Standards have been in place for more than 3 years. With most of the industry deemed to have achieved the Unit Standards, Waka Kotahi NZTA will no longer maintain the warrant system where there is a unit standard in place.
What does this mean?
Unit Standards remain as a permanent record of achievement on your staff’s NZQA record of learning.
Q: What about those who have completed a Refresher warrant and did not complete the unit standard?
A: Where the warrant has come to an end, the equivalent unit standard can be gained.
Q: What about maintaining a recognition of competency?
A: It is important to ensure staff on the front line are aware of current legislation and practises. We can assist with this and tailor a programme of recognised competency for your staff.
Q: Going forward, do staff require Refreshers?
A: It is the responsibility of the employer to ensure staff remain competent. Assessments in the workplace can be arranged to document staff competency. In the future, refresher updates can be tailored to suit your staff, workplace, and activities along with developments in the TTM industry. Regular reviews for staff provide assurance, identify gaps in knowledge, extend knowledge and the opportunity to layer new skills that are developing in the risk assessment space. We can arrange bespoke training and assessment that is relevant to your workplace competencies.
